Q: Why do bartenders put a slice of lime in a Corona beer bottle?

A: There are different theories as to why bartenders put a slice of lime in a Corona – it cleans the tip of the bottle, enhances the taste of the beer, kills germs, keeps flies away or even masks the flavor of skunky beer. But whatever the reason, the first wedge of lime put into a bottle of Mexican beer stuck there, literally and permanently. Today, a Corona without a lime looks like Ernie without Bert or Peanut Butter without Jelly! For another great duo of all times –  beer and nachos – click here for our Ultimate Beef Nachos recipe.
