Q: Why do some beers have corks?

A: Some beers, like Belgian-style beers, come in bottles with very thick glass and corks. This is because the beer inside is at a higher pressure than other styles. At such high pressure, corks seem more reliable than caps, since they have more surface area in contact with the bottle.

Additionally, old world breweries use to cork beers, so today’s breweries want customers to remember this time-honored tradition!
