The Rhubarb Plant is also known as the Pie Plant because of its widespread use in pies. Rhubarb is a vegetable, but it is generally prepared and served in the same manner as fruit. It is most often cooked and sweetened with sugar. The thick, red/pink stems can be eaten raw; however, the taste is usually too tart for most consumers to eat.
